NOTES FROM TILE PLAINS. LADIES’ HOCKEY. The Kerepeehi Ladies’ Hockey Club held its annual meeting on Wednesday evening, Mr T. Morrisson presiding over a large and enthusiastic gathering. Officers for the coining season were elected as follows: Patron, Mr F. Rogers ; president, Mr J. H. Nicholson ; secretary, Miss B. Thompson ; chaperone,, Mrs E. Taylor; coaches, Mr T. Morrisson and Mrs Boswell; captain, Mis W. Kidd; vice-captain, Miss M, Courtney. Messrs A. McMillan, A. Middleton, and B. Price were added to the committee. Several new members were enrolled. It was agreed that the membership fees be the same as in previous years, that Mr Courtney be approached for the use of his ground again, and that the. chib colours lie light if awn and navy. INTER-CLUB HOCKEY. Mr J. H. Nicholson, of Kerepeehi, has intimated his intention of donating a trophy for competition among tlie ladies’ hockey teams of the Hauraki Plains. As yet the Kerepeehi club has been the. only one to reorganise this season. The Waitakaruru players are doubtful if there will we sufficient players in their district to form a team this season. Ngatea girls have not yet commenced to talk hockey. In Turua, and also in Kopuarahi, there is talk of forming clubs this season, and possibly the. donation of tlie trophy by Mr Nicholson and the consequent organised competition that will result will be sufficient inducement for them to go ahead. CRICKET. On Easter Saturday the Hauraki Plains cricket representatives will play the Piako representatives at Te Aroha. The Plains selector, Mr J. G. Miller, announces that the “A” team will be as follows : A. J. McDonald, R. Whelan, R. D. Macklo.v, W. W. Averill, W. O’Neil, F. Woodbridge, Russell Green, B. Nolan, F. Nicol, and C. Stretton. The “B” team will be as follows, unless members aie taken to fill vacancies in the “A” team : S. Phillips Boyd, E. Johnson, E. French, AMcPherson, R. McPherson, C. Parfitt, E. Gill, N. Hedges, N. Boyne. Emergencies : R. Cornthwaite, J. Knox, J. Gribble, H. Kerby, A. McMillan, C. Wilton. RUGBY NOTES. At a meeting o,f the Turua Football Club on Tuesday evening a resolution was carried protesting against the action of the Hauraki Plains Rugby Union in banding over Turua territory to the Kereepehi club. The delegates were instructed to give notice of intention to move that the resolution be rescinded and the old boundary of the Turua club restored. Mr T. Morrison, of Kerepeehi, has declined to accept the office of one of the three representative team selectors.
