KEREPEEHI SPORTS.
THE EASTER MONDAY FUNCTION.
Matters in connection with* the forthcoming sports meeting at Kerepeehi an Easter Monday <fle proceeding satisfactorily. An enthusiastic meeting of committeemen was held on Tuesday evening. Correspondence wps received from the Northern Athletic Union granting Easter Monday as a date for a registered meeting. Letters were received from athetics and choppers seeking information, and desiring nomination. Mr M. A. Ellis wrote stating that he would be pleased to assist in judging the chopping events. Arrangements were made for preparing the ground, and erecting hurdles, etc.
In regard to the proposed refreshment booth the secretary reported that no applications had been received for the right to run such a booth with the exceptipn of an application from a Thames man for permission to sell fish and chips and shellfish.
The president and secretary were given power to act in the matter. Various minor matters were discussed and many offers of assistance were received. Working bees on the ground will be held on Saturday, and on certain week days if weather permits.
