EAST FOOTBALL CLUB. . ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of .the East Football Club was held in Mr W. Bain’s rooms on Wednesday evening, the president (Mr T. P. Vuglar) presiding over a good attendance of members and supporters. The annual report which was read by .the secretary (Mr C. H. Vincent), that the club had met with very little success on the field during last season. The selectors had given splendid services, and had used their best endeavours to keep the teams together. It was pleasing to record that one of the club’s players, G. Robinson, had gained representa■•ttve honours in the Thames Valley touring team. The club also desired to congratulate W. H. Taylor and L. C. Masters, of the West club, on gaining similar honours. LENGTHY SERVICES RECOGNISED. Prior to the election of officers, Mr Vuglar said that after 20 ! years’ service as the club’s president he did not seek further election. His private affairs precluded him from doing the position the justice it demanded. Several members paid a tribute of appreciation of the services rendered by Mr Vuglar over stlch a long term, anti it was much regretted that he could not carry on. It was decided to make Mr Vuglar an honorary life member as a slight token of appreciation of the loyal and unfailing services given to the . club. OFFICERS. The following officers were elected for the season, 1927 : Patron, Mr JBrenan ; president, Mr J- Pinder; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. Marshall, G. S. Taiboys, R. Medhurst, D. A. Vincent, A. F. Steedman, W. P. Pennell, W. Bain, F. Thorp, W. Neil, A. Benzy, W. Bottomley, W. L. Lawrence, E. A. Porritt, H. C. Bowden, W. W. Scott, M. Beattie, V. J. Innes, J. Barrett, L. Nevin, E. P. Fathers, M. Crosby, J. Campbell, M. Hollis ; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. H. Vincent; auditor, Mr W. L. Lawrence; delegates to Paeroa Rugby Union Committee, Messrs Pinder and R. Hodson ; selectors, Messrs R. Hodson (seniors) and H. Robinson (juniors). COMPETITION MEDALS. —Medals were awarded by the selectors as follows :Mr J. Brenan’s medal for the best all-round senior forward, won by C. Treanor; Mr W. M. Soren sen’s medal for the best junior back, won by N. Neil. Mr J. Pinder offered to donate a football to the club, and an offer was also made of a, medal to be awarded to the best junior back during tne season. The donors were thanked for their offers. Subscriptions were fixed at 5s for senior and junior players, third grade players being free. NETHERTON FOOTBALL CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The Netherton Football Club held annual meeting on Wednesday evening, the president, Mr C. H. Potter, presiding over a good attendance of members. Officers appointed for the season were as follows: President, Mr Jack Johnson; secretary, Mr S. Liggins ; club delegates, Messrs F. T. V. Johnson and R. Morrison ; junior- selector, Mr J. Johnson. The other officers and the two union members were not appointed. The club anticipates being able to take the field at its usual strength, although at present there appears to be a shortage of members.
