HAURAKI PLAINS COUNTY
SPECIAL MEETING. A special meeting, of the Hauraki Plains County Council was held on Monday last, the chairman (Or. E. L. Walton) presiding over a full council. The meeting was convened for the purpose of passing the necessary resolutions to hypothecate the, balance of debentures for the Netherton Roads Loan, 1925, to the Bank of New Zealand. The formal resolutions in this, ci>nMwction were moved by the chairman, seconded by Cr. Reid, and carried. FERRIES. It was agreed that £254 be paid the Thames County Council for its halfshare of the value of the plant and equipment comprising the old Whareferry. The Works Committee was authorised to remove the house to the Komata North ferry. HIKUTAIA QUARRY. On account of there being no demand at present for metal from the Hikutaia quarry and insufficient funds in hand to continue producing metal for next season’s work, it was decided that the Hikutaia quarry be closed down. Arrangements will be made by the Works Committee to safeguard the property. PATETONGA ROADING. At the suggestion o,f Cr.-Mayn it was decided that the few hundred yards of gravel lying near the Maukoro Road drain be placed on the road.
