EASTEB MONDAY GATHERING.
GREAT ENTHUSIASM OBTAINS.
Matters in connection with the Kerepeehi Sports Association’s gathering on Easter Monday are progressing very satisfactorily, and from the enthusiasm shown on the whole of the Plains and the inquiries received fr.om a much wider district the indications are that the 'function will be an event f be remembered. A committee meeting was held on Tuesday evening, and the attendance of men who desired to become members was very great. Particularly gratifying was the offer of many members of the now defunct, sports association of Turua to assist The programme was further considered at Tuesday’s meeting. Prizes totalling almost £lOO will be offered, including £lO for the standing chop and £7 for the Kerepeehi Cup horse event. There will be four chopping events, six horse events, a motoi' event, and sundry running events.
The committee decided to call ten-j ders for the refreshment and luncheon booths, and to allow side-shows <m the sports ground.
