CHRISTIAN CONVENTION.
GATHERING AT NGARUAWAHIA.
NOTABLE SPEAKERS TO ATTEND.
During recent years the Christian Church has been deriving great blessing 'from gathering in one place for prayer, Bible study, and fellowship. These meetings are generally known as “Conventions,” among the chief being the great Keswick Convention of England and the Northfield Convention of U.S.A., where Protpstant Christians of all denominations gather lor instruction upon the central and important themes of the Faith, and lay aside their denominational barriers. A splendid spirit <f service is thus engendered and much blessing is apparent.
Such a gathering will be held this year at, Ngaruawahia under a committee of laymen representing several denominations. Outstanding men of God from distant lands are now eu route to Ngaruawahia, including Dr. Howard Taylor, son of the late Hudson Taylor, founder of the China Inland Mission, Rowland V. Bingham, founder and director of the Sudan Interior Mission, and the Rev. W. P. Nicholson who was so wonderfully used in the recent Belfast, Revivals. Dr. Taylor is accompanied by his wife who is authoress of many books of world-wide Christian influence and daughter of Mr Gratta.n Guinness, prominent in Christian circles in England. The other speakers are the Rev. Jos. W. Kemp, pastor of the Auckland Baptist Tabernacle, and Chas. J. Rolls, O|f the N.Z. Bible Training Institute.
