YOUNG CYCLIST INJURED
FALL FROM MACHINE.
FRACTURED SHOULDER RECEIVED
A pain'ful accident befel Jack Busby, elder son of Mr N. C. Busby, Cullen Street, Paeroa,, on Saturday afternoon. Young Busby, with some companions, was returning from a ramble in the bush near Mr W. Buchanan’s property adjacent to tlie rifle range, and was carrying a basket on the handle-bars of his bicycle. When proceeding down the Bennet Street hill he found that the basket was slipping, and in an endeavour to place it in position he released the pressure ou the back-pedalling brake of the machine. The result was that he lost control, and after travelling some distance was thrown heavily on to the side c'f the road.
With considerable pluck young Busby, who was suffering considerable pain, after picking himself up, walked to his home, where on arrival it was found that he had fractured his left shoulder, and, in addition to bruises, had several skin abrasions. Surgical aid was immediately sought,, the the young sufferer is progressing satisfactorily.
