PAEROA V. TE AROHA A. LOCAL TEAM DEFEATED. The match between Paeroa and Te Aroha A was concluded on Saturday last. Pqeroa, with two wickets down for. 27 runs (Pivott 8 and Oakes 17), resumed play on a perfect wicket. The bowling of Jamieson was top good for the local team, only two playeis, making double figures, Oakes and Flowers, who, both played a good game. Witli 13 byes,.the innings closed for 79 runs.

The visitors started badly, losing two wickets for 4 runs, but, a fine stand by Mcßeth and Banks added 30 runs before Banks was dismissed by a fine catch <>n the part of Shand. One of tlie finest catches seen on the domain was made by Goanan, who raced fully 30 yards along the line to bring off a catch from Jamieson. Witn four runs still wanted when the last, man went in Paeroa’s chance looked fairly bright, but Mcßeth soon put the result beyond doubt by lifting a ball from Flowers clean over the line, but lie lost his wicket a few minutes later to the same bowler, who was in great, form with the ball.
