Judgment 'for plaintiff by default was given in the following cases before Mr F. W. Plat.ts, S.M., at the local Magistrate’s Court yesterday: D. J. Evans v. J. Clark, £5 14s 2d ; M, K. Reid v. C. Lomas, £8 ; John Wails v. M. R. P. White, £5 17s 6d. Tlie progress made with the erection of the new theatre buildings was shown this morning by .the fact that tlie customary white flag was hoisted 'from tlie top of tlie edifice, signifying that t,he roof was completed. It is interesting to note that tlie symbol was removed shortly before midday.
