Kaihere Road’settlers who, have applied to the South Auckland Land Board to be transferred to new sections on the Kerepeehi block are hoping to get a reply 'from the Land Board in a day dr two.
The wireless receiver installed for demonstration purposes by an Auckland firm in the Turua Public Hall has proved that while receiving sets may be all right for average size rooms, the present machines are not suitable for public halls. The set worked well, but distortion occurred when the volume was amplified sufficiently to fill the large building.
Keiepeehi school children were »n--fortunate in that the weather on Saturday last was such that their picnic at New Brighton Beach nad to be abandoned. However, they are hoping conditions will be better next Saturday week, so that the trip can be made. As a large quantity of f ;pd had been obtained for the picnic last .Saturday the children' were given a treat in the Kerepeehi Hall, where dances and all sorts of indoor games were organised.
