NORTH OF ENGLAND STRICKEN.

DEATH RATE ALARMING

LONDON, February 21

Influenza is severest in the North of England, particularly in Liverpool, where the death rate is alarming. Undertakers in all districts are employing extra hands.

Offices are often only half staffed. Many schools are closed, while workers in mills and factories are serious!;’ depleted. There were at least three cases during the week-end of, a husband and wife dying practically simultaneously.
