G — LAST SATURDAY’S MATCH. PAEROA DEFEATS AONGATETE. The local team scored ah easy win on Saturday at the domain by defeating Aongatete by 126 runs. Of <,he visitors 'Robinson and Roskilly were the best batsmen, while Young and Shankland performed well with the ball. Sale was in great form with the bat for the. local team, and Pivott also played a solid game. Edwards and Dare bowled well, the latter taking three widiets in one ever. PRIMARY SCHOOL CRICKET. This year an interest has been taken in school cricket which has been mainly in the hands of Miessrs Malcolm and Insley. Valuable heip has also been given by Messrs T. C. and C. Arnold. During last week several matches were^ played, as 'follows : Paeroa Primary 118, v. Paeroa Convent 24 ; Paeroa Primary 65, v. Paeroa High School, 54. On Saturday the Karangahake Primary visited Paeroa, and a match of innings was played in the domain. Messrs T. C. Arnold and Sale were t,he umpires. The fielding of the. boys was excellent, as was also the bowling of Edwards, Mayo, Arnold, of Paeroa ; and Goldsworthy and Remington of Karangahake. The result was a win for Karangahake, the scores be : ing: Karangahake, 84 ; Paeroa, 51.
