BRENAN SHIELD FINAL.
F. MARSH’S TEAM WINS.
The final of the Brenan Memorial Shield competition was played on the local green in ideal weather on Saturday afternoon. The match was. between McDonald, W. Chamberlain, C. Mettam, and F. Marsh (skip), winners of “A” Section, and R Lowry, C. Holes, W. Ellis, and W. H. Taylor (feikip), winners of “B” Section, and Marsh’s team won by three points. Taylor’s team scored one on the first head, but on the second Marsh’s team ran on a good five, and for the remaining 19 heads kept in the lead. Both teams were the recipients of hearty congratulations. NIGHT PLAY BUTTONS. On Thursday night a team comprising Lowry, Gibb, G. H. Taylor, and P. Williams (skip) challenged the holders o,f the night play, competition but-tons—-J. Brocket ,W. Perston, J. Morland, T. Hale (skip). After an interesting game toe holders retained the trophies by 5 points, the scores being 22 to 17.
