In the course of a coinmunic.atian asking for repairs to be carried out on the track leading to the Peter Maxwell mine, behind Te Aroha, the manager stated that slips required clearing and some large pot-holes filled in. The letter, which was before the Ohinemuri County Council meeting yesterday, caused the chairman (Mr H. M. Corbett) to remark : “Good heavens, do pot-holes exist up there ? there seems to be an epidemic of these things.” The matter was referred to the engineer, with authority to expend a grant of £5O made by the Mines Department.
