PLAINS RAINFALL.
RECORD OF JANUARY. SLIGHTLY UNDER AVERAGE. The rainfall for the month of January, as gauged at the office of the Lands Department at Kerepeehi, totalled 2.38 inch Es. In the six-day period from the 3rd to the Bth 2.08 inches were gauged. . A little over a quarter of an inch 'fell In the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. on the 14th, .01 df an inch was recorded on thE 18th, and .02 of an inch on the 30th. By a coincidence the total fall and the total number «f wet days were the same as in January, 1925. The average fall at KerEpeehi for January during the las’. 14 years is 2.73 inches, but for the last six years the 'fall averages at 3.'57 inches.
