.INNIVERSARY DAY TOURNEY. PAIRS COMPETITION. Perfect weather prevailed at the local bowling green on Saturday (Anniversary Day), when a progressive pairs tournament was played. The competition attracted .a good number of players, and q. thoroughly enjoyable day was spent. At the conclusion Oif tflie day’s play it was found that W. Chamberlain and W. Forrest (skip) had carried off the honciurs with 4 wins and one loss. , Following are the. details, the first six teams each having three wins and two losses :— Perston and Olson, R. Thorp and W. H. Taylor, J. Morland and W. McCullay, J. Wilkinson and G. H. Taylor, R. LCiwry and G. P. de Castro, G. S. Masters and W. Purdie, C. Holes and T. Hale, (one win and four losses), J. Brocket and W. J. Ellis (one win and four losses), Miss. McCullajy and J. W. Silcock (one win and four losses). NIGHT PLAY BUTTONS. Weathea- permitting, T. H. Hale’s team has challenged T. L. Williams team (holders) to a match 'for the night play challenge buttons to be played to-night.
