ACTION TO SECURE 40-HOUR WEEK
LOCKED OUT ON MONDAY.
BRISBANE, January 25.
A further number df building trade employees were absent from work on Saturday in pursuance, of the decision to work only a 4'o-hour week. They were dismissed when they went to commence work on Monday. A meeting of master builders decided to apply to the. Arbitration Court 'for cancellation of thq building trade award and the deregistration of the striking unions. A meeting of strikers resolved that unless all men working on conditions other than those adopted by the. building trades group Have work within 24 hours, members of the building trades group will refuse to work with them.
