GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES. TO-NIGHT. T«E DEMON. For. once Jack Hoxie does* not rescue the. girl. This situation, unique in .western -picture plays, come about in "The Demon,” starring Hoxie, and to be shown to-night. The hero, played by Hoxie, is also in danger on several occasions. The girl aids herself, but the hero is twice saved by timely shots, fired by some mysterious person. It all adds mystery to this thrilling story of love and- adventure in the open spaces of the West. SATURDAY NIGHT. RIDIN’ THE WIND. The pathos p’f two youngsters, left, motherless, is painted in vivid, heartwringing fashion in Fred Thomson’s.' most recent picture, “Ridin’ the Wind,” which is to be screened tomorrow’ night,. It is filled with smashing, whirl-wind action, and pr.oves a positive panic wheln it comes to comedy. TRUE AT STEEL. Rupert Hughes, author, playwright, composer, scenarist, and film director, again has proved that he is a mafeitei of the cinema as thoroughly as he is Of the printed word in "True as Steel,” which is also to be shown tomorrow night. The story is of a business man and a business woman who have a violent love affair but break it off and go back to their homes;.. TURUA PICTURES. THE GRAND DUCHESS AND THE WAITER. “The Grand Duchess and the Waiter,” showing at Turua. on Saturday night tells of a wealthy clubman, who sees and falls in love with the Grand Duchess Zenia. All attempts! at an introduction Jail, and so finally he changes places with a waiter to be near her. As a waiter he is a good carpenter, and that says a lot. WILD JUSTICE. Thrilling action, coupled with & remarkably human story elf life and love in the lonely North country, marks “Wild Justice.,” showing at Turua on Tuesday night, and starring Peter the Great, the new marvel of the screen. The story opens as an old man lies in an isolated cabin. A blizzard screams over the mountains. Beside the body crouches Arno, a. giant dog. A tiny tell-tale hole in the window pane shows where a murderer’s bullet has entered. From then swift action 'follows. In addition the ever-popular, stage and screen stars, Potash and Perlmutter, appear in “Partners Again.” These Jewish partners engage in the automobile business, distributing the. Schenckman Six, a new and terrible automobile. To escape the wrath of dissatis- - fled buyers the partners decide to escape by aeroplane, and then the fun starts.
