A Plain?. farmer who was recently noticed cutting the tall fescue. from his road frontage was asked last week why he had ceased before finishing his frontage. He replied that, he. had seen in the “Gazette” that County Council employees were instructed to do t,he. work. We wonder if he has since seen in the “Gazette” that the County Council has given its noxious weeds inspector instructions to take action to have road frontages cleared. Tall fescue is not a noxious weed within the meaning of the Act, but this has not been for the want of trying on behalf of the council, and’ there is no doubt that it is a greater menace than some weeds included io the schedule. Blackberries, are still' thriving along many roadsides on thePlains.
