BRENAN MEMORIAL SHIELD.
W. H. TAYLOR WINS SECTION
Perfect weather prevailed on Saturday afternoon, and there was a large attendance of members on the local bowling green.
The principal attraction was the final games in the Brcnan Memorial Shield "A” section competition. By the defeat of W. T. Power’s team by 8 points W. H. Taylor’s team has won the section.
The final game in the "B” section of the same competition will probably be played on Saturday next. The leading team in this section is F. Marsh’s.
Following are the results of Saturday’s play:—
Lowry, Holes, Ellis, W. H. Taylor (skip) 23, v. Waiting, Thorp, de Castro, W. T. Power (skip) 15 ; Barclay, Edwards, Finnie, L. C. Cane (skip) 35, "v. Perston, W. Smith, Olson, L. J. Williams (skip) 9 ; McDonald, Chamberlain, Morland, F. Marsh (skip) 26, v. G. Vowles, Wilkinson, Hayward, T. H. Hale (skip) 17. NIGHT PLAY BUTTONS.
The third game this; Reason for the challenge buttons will be played this evening, commencing at 7.30 o’clock. The match will be between a Public Works team (challengers) and T. H. Hale’s team (holders).
