WAIKATO MARKET REPORT.

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company reports:—

Beef.—The market is much the same, plenty of both prime ox and cow offering, best ox making up to 27s and cow and heifer 235.

Fat Sheep.—Thenc is a firm demand •for prime wethers and young ewes, but aged fat ewes are a good deal easier. Hoggets and lambs, are meeting with ready sale ip the market at prices better than export rates. Ex-

porters are operating freely 'for lambs at 7Y 2 d.

Store Sheep.—A good demand exists for store wethers, rape and store lambs, and good lines, of young breeding ewes, but old ewes are hard to quit.

Store Cattle.—With .the abundance of 'feed about, buyers are operating for grown bullocks, also 'for good quality 2%-year steers. There is an inquiry for the latter class from outside districts, and also for good lines o'f well-bred heifers, but not many store cattle are offering at present.

Pigs.—Good yardings of both fat and store pigs are coming forward, and prices for. all classes are a little easier, baconers. and porkers making equal to 5%d.

Horses. —All classes are at. present dull off sale.

We quote: Bullocks, prime extra heavy £lo' 10s to £ll, medium £8 1£ to £9 ;' cows, prime £6 >&s to £7 55., medium £5 5s to £5 10s. unfinished £3 t,o £3 10s; heifers, prime £7 10s to £8; steers, forward 4-year £7 to £7 ss, 3-ycar stores £5 10s. to £6, good 2-year £4 5s t 0 £5 ; good yearling steers £3 to £3 5s ; good yearling Jersey heifers £4 10s to £5 10s; good fresh empty cows £3 to £3 10s ; aged store cows 30s to £2 ; good dairy herds (tested) £7 10s to £8 10s. Wethers, prime shorn heavy 225. to 245, medium 20s to 21s ; ewes, prime shorn 13s 6d to 15s ; store wethers, A-tooth,’ shorn. 10s to 20s, 2-tooth 17s to 18s ; breeding ewes, 4,6, and 8-tooth 20s .to 21s, 5years 16s to 17s, aged 10s to 12b, 2tooth 22s to 245. Pigs: Baconers, prime £3 5s to £3 Bs, medium £3 Is £3 2& 6d ; porkers £2 15s to £2 18s; slips 38s to £2 ; weaners 12s to 17s.
