DISTRICT NEWS.
KOPUARAHL SOCIAL AND DANCE. A most enjoyable and successful function was held in the Kopuarahi school on Wednesday evening last. A progressive euchre tournament was held, and dancing was indulged in until a late hour. The music was excellently rendered by the Kopuarahi Orchestra.
During the evening items were given by Misses Clevely and the Rev. Charteris. The winners of the euchre were Murray and Mr G. Miller. Novelty dances (Monte Carlo and spot waltz) were won by Miss H. Hanwood and Mr P. Leathart and Miss A. Candy and Mr Treadaway respectively. The surprise packet, which was, donated by Mr Braithwaite, was won by Mr Candy.
Visitors from Ngatea, Waitakaruru, Turua, Orongo, Hamilton, Whangarei, and Auckland . helped to make the e.vening the success it was. Thanks are also due to Mr B. Miller fon his untiring energy and thorough organisation.
