PAEROA B DEFEATS TE AROHA B.
An enjoyable inter-clUo maten was played on the local courts on Saturday’aJfternoon, when the Paeroa B teaig defeated a Te Arona B team by 14 games to 10, or 170 poims to 145.
The weather was fine and the courts were in good playing condition, but .the high wind tiiat prevailed considerably inconvenienced the players at times. Following aye the details, tlie Paeroa players oeing mentioned first in each instance :—
Ladies’ Singles.— L. Thorp beat Miss McGeahan, 7—5 ; Miss I. Taylor beat Miss Fitzpatrick. 7—4 ; Miss H. Taylor beat Miss Wayne, 7 —4 ; Miss. A. Argali lost to Mrs Vickers, 5 —7; Miss I. Masters beat Misp Hedge, 7—l; Miss McCaskill beat Miss Robinson, 7—l.
Men’s Singles.—L. Masters lost to Vickers, B—98 —9 ; J. Bigelow lost to Bush, 1— ; M. Poland lost to Barkman, 2 — 9 ; G. • Thorp lost to Alexander, 3— 9 ; Scott beat Lusby, 9—3 ; J. Conolly beat Ngakura, 9—6.
