Although about 150 draws had to be made to find the thirteen prize winners in the Hauraki Plains Golden A'rf Union Mr H. Poland did not have' to put his hajnd in a bag over 1000 times. Less than one-third df the draws revealed at the thjrd marble that, the number wduld be onq for which there was not a ticket. The tickets were numbered in three groups, “A,” “B,” and “C;” and there ware about as many tickets printed with the group number C as in the two other groups combined. In the drawing, the group letter C only appeared four times mdra often than either of the >pther letters, though, for the numbers drawn, right out, the proportion of C group almdst exactly double that of the ’A and B groups. The winning group numbers were A one prize, B five prizes, and 1 C seven prizes.
