Evidently Paeroa was loath to allow The Follies and the Waihi quota, of artists to leave the town last evening, for on the Convent hill .the benzine pipe of the Waihi-Paeroa transport service big bus becajme fractured and necessitated a delay of close bn an hour before the journey could be continued. However, The Follies remained true to their name, and spent the time in planning further expeditions into the “enchanted l and of musical comedy.” “That this, association views with great seriousness the development of the system of selling goods on small deposit; that it considers the system whereby people are enabled to purchase articles valued from £lO upwards for a deposit of 2s 6d is prejudicial to the Interests of the trade;; that people are encouraged to live beyond their means.” The above is the text of ,a motion passed at -a; meeting of the Sou.th Taranaki Grocers’ Association to be sent to the Government. Chambers of Commerce ami allied associations are also to be circularised, asking for support.
