LAST SATURDAY’S MATCHES'. RESULTS OF THE GAMES. Showery weather marred last. Saturday’s cricket on the Hauraki Plains, but it did not stop the play. Ngatea secured a three-point win and Kaihere and Kopuarahi two-pdint wins. KAIHERE V. PIPIROA. At Kaihere the home team batted first and knocked up 54 runs. Pipirba! was dismissed for 12, and with five wickets down for 20 runs Kaihere declared the second innings closed. Pipiroa had made 4'9 runs foT sQven wickets when time was called. NGATEA V. WAITAKARURIJ. In the match at Ngatea the visitors were all out for 17 in each innings, while the Ngatea. team knocked up 42 runs for five wickets. Ob’ the Waitakaruru batsmen C. Stretton topped the score in the first innings with four the others being S. F. and J. Donaghy 2 each, and McPherson, F. Stretton, L. Preston, and N. Death one each. In the second innings runs were secured for Waitakaruru by JJohnson (9 not out), C. Stratton (5), A. McPherson (2), and G. L. Griffiths, L. Preston,- and L. Berney (1 each). Canning, the Ngatea bowler, accounted for nine wickets for ten runs, in the first innings and five for five in the second. Chapman, took one for two! and four for ten, and S. Phillips none for t.wo and one for four. For Ngatea F. Nicol topped the score with' 22 not out. S. Phillips reached 11 not out, M. Canning 4, A. Carlton 3, and J. Gribble 1. The only other batter was R. Phillips. Donaghy secured one; wicket for nine, McPherson one ’for ten, and C. Stretton one for 29. KOPUARAHJ V. TURUA.
