DISTRICT NEWS.
NGATEA. HALL SOCIETY. The Ngateai Public Hall Society met on Saturday evening, Mr W. J. Clare presiding. The secretary reported that the receipts for the month of October totalled £24 17s 3d and the expenditure, including a twelfth of the annual charges, £l3 19s lOfl. The banh overdraft stood at £225 9s lid, cash in hand w r as £l3 10s 2d, and accounts due totalled £97 2s sd, including £BO for the new dressing rooms, the building of which was completed last week.
A committee was appointed, frithpower to act, to look into the matter of improving the outhouses, shifting the stajl, and making better arrangements for the preparation of supper. Dissatisfaction with, the services of the caretaker provoked the decision to review the matter at .the next full mee;ting. The secretary was instructed to call tenders for the lease pf the stall for the coming year.
