PLAINS WATER SUPPLY.
SOME CONTRACTS LET. DAM AND PIPES. The . Hauraki Plains County Council’s special water supply committee at a meeting on Wednesday laa.t accepted some of the tenders: for the contracts recently advertised. As in some cases the contracts are not yet completed the full details are not available, but it is understood that the tender of Messrs Tatley and Co., the firm which is. constructing the Waitakaruru-Pokeno main highAvay, Avejs accepted for the construction of the concrete dam and the tunnelling, and that of Messrs Brisco and Co. for the supply of fittings (ironAvork) for the dam. A tender was received for the supply of 10-inch concrete main Yor the reticulation frotan the dam to Dalgety’s corner, and in view of the satisfactory price it was submitted to .the Public Wokrs Department to r approval. Tenders for the balance of the reticulation will be called shortly.
