HAURAKI PLAINS CRICKET
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. PROGRAMME FOR THE SEASON. The Hauraki Plains Cricket Association held its annual meeting last week, the officers appointed for the season being as follows :— Patron, Mr E. Walton; Dissident, Mr D. J. O’Carroll; vice-presidents, Messrs T. A. McClean, G. Robinson, R. Whelan, W. E. Hale> G. L. Griffiths, T. W. Elliott, A. J. McDonald, E. WHarris ; secretary, Mr F. L. Wallis ; auditor, Mr S. W. Roffe; representative selector, Mr J. G. Miller. It was decided that the association affiliate with the Auckland suburban Association. TWO-DAY MATCHES. Acting on instructions from their club, the Kopuarahi delegates brought up the question of playing matches right out by spreading the game over two Saturdays. This was debated at considerable length, and notices of motion to amend the rules .accordingly were tabled for consideration at another meeting on Wednesday evening. In view of the absence of the delegates, c/f the Kaihere, club it was decided to further defer consideration. THE TURUA CLUB. Mr McKay reported .that under certain conditions a club would be formed at Turua. As Tuma's ground would not be suitable for some, time it was desired that the draw be arranged to allow Turua to travel for the first round matches. The association agreed to accept the affiliation of the Turua. club under these conditions. B GRADE TEAM. Tlie matter of forming teams of B grade players was 1 discussed but no decision was arrived at. THE DRAW. First Day.—Turua v. Pipil'oa, Kopuarahi v. Waitakaruru, Kaihere v. Ngatea. Second Day.—Kopuarahi v. Turua, Pipiroa v. Kaihere, Waitakaruru v. Ngatea. Third Day.—Turua v. Waitakaruru, Ngatea v. Pipiroa, Kaihere v. Kopuarahi. Fourth Day—Kaihere v. Turua, Pipiroa v. Waitakaruru, Ngatea v. Kopuarahi. Fifth Day.—Turua v. Ngatea, Kopuarahi v. Pipiroa, Waitakaruru v. Kaihere. In the first round the first-mention-ed team will trave.l to the pitch of the second-mentioned club, and in the second round the reverse will apply. The first match will be played on Saturday next. REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES. The secretary was instructed to endeavour to arrange matches with the associations at Morrinsville, Te Arolia, Thames', Rotorua, Waihi; Pukekphe, and Paerda.
