HAURAKI BOARD’S DISTRICT. ONT TRUSTEE DEFEATED. The triennial election of trustees «f the Hauraki drainage district was held at Turua on Monday. Of the five members of the board three were returned unopposed, and at Monday’s election a fourth member ofi the old board was re-elected. The voting was as, follows : — CENTRAL SUBDIVISION. Baker did not particularly de,-iro re-election, and he was. very reluctant to allow himself to be nominated. The question of the additional drainage works in the two areas undoubtedly influenced the election.
