KEREPEEHI.

TENNIS CLUB "OPENING.

The opening day of the Kerepe-hl Lawn Tennis Club took place on Saturday last and, blessed with a perfect afternoon, was an unqualified success. Visitors' were present from all parts of the Plains, almost every club being well represented, and the courts presented a very animated appearance with the many enthusiasts grouped around. An enjoyable atfernoon tea was provided by the Ladies of the club, and at this appropriate time the Reason was formally declared open by the president, Mr J. H. Nicholson. The continued bad weather had presented the committee from completing all the improvements on the club’s property that had been intended, but by dint of much frenzied labour clu - ing the last few days things were put in a sufficiently good order to hold the opening. The afternoon was much enjoyed by everyone.
