The Piako River is exceptionally high at the present time, due to the flood-water from the upper reaches. The Kaihere wharf was under water this week, and a great part of the Mangawhero road was submerged. The farms beyond Patetonga abutting on to the ponding area are flooded to a depth unequalled since the flood of 1924. An application to hire the steam road roller for one day and .the t.arheating boiler for two days was, mad® by W. 'W. Scott, builder, Paeroa, at last night’s meeting of the Borough Council.
