LAST SATURDAY’S MATCH.
PAEROA DEFEATS KEJREPEEHI.
Despite the adverse weather conditions which prevailed locally on Saturday afternoon the Paeroa Indies’ hockey team defeated the KeTepeehi ladies’ team by six goals to one at the Paeroa Domain. ,
Paeroa took the field with' only ten players, and this fact appeared toi put them on their mettle, as the combine? tion of the forwards; was good, and the backs, especially when on the defensive, were solid. The visitors lacked combination, and at times jvere inclined to bunch. The game .throughout was fast and open, the local forwards being on the ball practically all the time.
In the first half the scores were four to nil in favour, of Pa.eroa, and in the second half Paeroa shot two more goals and the visitors notched one.
For Paeroa Miss V. Shand registered four goals and Misses M. Tierney and B. Bunting one - each. The gdal for the visitors was netted by Miss Courtney. , '
