THAMES HOSPITAL BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING. ROUTINE BUSINESS. The monthly meeting of the Thames Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held on Monday, the chairman (Mr W. E Hale) presiding over the following: Messrs A. R. Robinson, J. W. Danby, W. J. Hall, J. Rowe, E. L. Wa.lton, C. W. Parfitt, C. W. Kennedy, and the secretary. Mr- G. Tonge. SEWERAGE CONNECTION. The Thames Borough Council replied to the board's inquiry and advised that it agreed to the hospital, being connected to the Mackay Street main server. The chairman stated that the Department of Health’s foreman bad recommended the connecting up with the sewerage system. . It was resolved to ask the council to connect up tol the Mackay Street main.

BUILDING FOR DENTAL CLINIC.

The Thames District School Committee advised that it was unable to obtain a suitable; building, and majie application for one of the rooms in the board’s previous office, building for the purpose of a dental clinic in connection with the primary schools of the Thames district. The chairman said that the office in question was occupied by the district health officer, and also as a storeroom by the board. It was resolved that unden the cir-, cumstances the board regretted that it could not supply the accommodation. BENEVOLENT LEAGUE. The Hauraki Ladies’ Benevolent League forwarded a number of certified accounts and asked for the; usual donation of £lO, which was granted. ELECTRIC POWER LINES. The Public Works Department’s district electrical engineer wrote advising that the Bombay-Waikino electric transmission line would pass through the board’s property at . Kerepeehi. Permission was sought to erect poles to carry the line on the board’s property. Permission was granted, the chairman remarking that there were ho trees of any size on the property. RECIPROCAL ARRANGEMENT. In connection with the payment of fees for patients from districts out-, side the board’s area, the Cdhomandel Hospital Board wrote advising that it was prepared to enter into a reciprocal arrangement with the board. ACCOUNTS. .Accounts totalling £1214 12s 4d were passed for payment.
