NGATEA. FARMERS’ UNION MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Ngatea branch of the N.Z. Farmers’ Union wa.s held on Tuesday evening, Mr A. Cleaver presiding over an attendance of six. A letter was received from the Ngatea Hall Society asking that an arrangement be entered into in regard to the hire of the hall for meetings. An account for 25s for. the use of the hall for the annual meeting was. ajso forwarded. On the suggestion of the president the account was received, and the secretary was instructed to make application for the use. of the hall for monthly meetings. The question of forming a ratepayers’ associateion was. brought up by Mr Wheeler, who asked if members were satisfied with the amount of rates levied. A general discussion on county and drainage; rates followed, and it was agreed tha ; t a meeting of ratepayers should be held. However, nothing was decided.
