ROAD RACE.
TIMARU TO CHRISTCHURCH.
LIST OF PRIZES. The prize list for the Timaru to Christchurch road cycle race which is to take place on Saturday, October 2, has been issued, and is on a par with that of previous races. The winner will receive, a prize to the value of £75 and will hold the Rudge Whitworth Challenge Cup, valued at 100 guineas. The first fifteen placed riders will receive'prizes, and the rider registering fastest time will be decorated with the Blue Riband for New Zealand Road Championship and will also receive £2O in cash and a gold medal. Other awards include prizes for veterans, youngest rider, fastest time under 18 years, fastest outside rider, new rider, and a list of special prizes, a total of over thirty prizes. In addition to the prizes, all riders who complete the journey in 7% hours or under will receive an illuminated certificate.
