MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
SITTING AT PAEROA. CASES DEALT WITH. (Before Mr J. H. Salmon, S.M.) At the, Magistrate’s Court, Paeroa, this morning, before Mr J. H. Salmon, S.M., James Fletcher Rankin, labourer, Wharepoa, was charged with failing to quit the Paeroa Hotel when requested to do so by the licens'.e.e. He did not appear, and on formal evidefice being given by the. licensee and by Constable McClinchy was convicted and fined £1 and costs 14s. The Magistrate commented that the action taken by Mr Smith; the licensee, was the proper attitude to be adopted in such cases. Judgment by default was given plaintiff in the following debt cases at. the Court this morning: T. H. Hale v. Thoma.s Short, £l3 18s 7d, costs £2 17s ; F. Johnson v. James, £2 12s, costs £1 3s 6d ; M. Davidson v. A. E. Booth, costs- only, 17s ; W. M. Sorensen v. G. Snelgar £l2 10s, costs £3 9s : State Advances Department v. H. R. Hobart, £64 13s 4d, costs £3 16s 6d ; W. Stephenson v. Nikorima Ruatrto £3 16s 7d, costs £2 19s 6d ; same v. Raul Penny, £lO 4s 4d, costs £2 14s ; L. S'. Marshall v. J. Moses, £3, costs £1 13s 6d. JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. W. B. Finneirty v; M. P. White, £lO 4.5. 6d, and L. Bethel v.. M. P. White, £4 6s. Orders, for payment forthwith were made, in default 14 days in gaol, warrant to be suspended so long as White paid 10s a month and 5s ,a month ion the respective orders. AV. Fleming and Son v. W.
