WEDDING.

EVANS—BENNER. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Bride’s Anglican Church, •Otorohanga, on Wednesday evening last, when the eldest daughter (Evelyn) of. Mr and Mrs H. Benner, of Otorohanga, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony' to Jaimes Harvey Evans, pl. Paeroa. The church was prettily decorated with lycapodium and ferns, relieved with daffodils, and there was a’full congregation of friends and the general public at the service, which was choral. The vicar of Otorohanga (Rev. BushKing) officiated. The bride, who! was given away by her father, looked ■charming, her dress being of shell pink taffeta, with silver lace and tis- ' sue, pink and silver b ( andeau with veil to match, and shoes c ! f pina and silver. Miss D. Beyiner and Miss G. Williams were the bridesmaids, the former being attired in pale green georgette, silver bandeau and a swathing. of tulle, and silver shoes and hose. The latter’s dress was of daffodil yeilokv georgette, silver bandeau,. and silver shoes' and hose. The. best, man was Mt A. McClean, of Ngatea, and the groomsman was Mr C. Chapman, of Thamesi Mrs H. Benner, mother of the bride, wore a, navy blue marocain costume trimmed with ecru lace and a black hat. Mrs Evans, mother of he bridegroom, was, attired in powder blue frock with Oriental embroideries, and a black hat.

After the ceremony a reception was held, by the bride’s parents, when some 40 guests were ’ present. The health of the bride and bridegroom was toasted a,nd the time-honoured cutting of the bridal cake performed.

The happy couple were the recipients of numerous presents, including several cheques.
