ROLLER MILLS SHIELD.
PREIfABY SCHOOLS TOURNEY. THAMES VALLEY WINS FINAL. The final game of the primary schools country week Rugby tournament was played at Eden P.afik, Auckland, on Friday afternoon, Thames Vajley defeating Auckland South by 40 points to 5. The Thames Valley players gave a first-class display and thofroughly deserved th'eir win, as a result of which the team will hold the Northern Roller Mills Shield. The Auckland South team played under considerable disadvantage, having de feated Whangarei by 9 points to 5 .after a hard game' in the morning. The presentation of the Shield was made to the winners at Eden Park on Saturday afternoon. . The ceremony was performed by Mr M. J. Sheahan, vice-president of the Auckland Rugby Union, and the Mayor of Auckland, Mr G. Baildbn, extended his congratulations to the winners. The team will return to Paeroh by this afternoon’s express, and will be met by officials of the Thames Valley and Paeroa Rugby Unions.
