PAEROA V. HAMILTON.
PAEROA DEFEATED BY 6 TO. NIL..
Considerable interest was taken ini th© hockey which was played! at the local domain on Saturday afternoon between the Paeroa and Hamil—ton ladies’ teams'. A fast, open game ruled throughout, and although the home team did not manage, to regisgoal the game was much «nore even than the scores indicated. The visitors,, many of whom were members df the Waikato representative team , which won the Auckland Pro; vihcial Championship this were too superior for the local play< ers. The stickwork and hard-hitting propensities of the visiting backs somewhat bewildered the local eleven. Valuable experience was gained by the home side as a result o£ the match, and the contest was thoroughly enjoyed. For the visitors goals were shot by Misses A. Nevell and Chainey (2 each), and Misses- V. Cann and Young. Mr C. C. Stallard was referee.
The’ visitors were entertained to tea at the PaeYoa Hotel at the conclusion of the match.
