Dr. Thacker, of Christchurch, in a recent lecture, said that an arrangement that was starting in America was ramp garages, “You drive in yenr car up a roadway tha,t winds round on a spiral,” he s/aid. "There are seven storeys to this big garage, and each floor is capable of accommodating between 60 and 70 cars. Cars Aviil be given any attention in the way of fuel and other things, and when the owner ha,s finished his business the car is brought round to him.’’ Dr. Thacker and Mrs Thacker drove right up to the. top floor of one. of these garages while they were in America.
