The Education Department has advised the Auckland Board of Education that the Junior High School at Rotorua would be opened about February. The form of control, it was stated, had not. yet been decided upon, but it was understood that the Director of Education favoured a special board. It was, decided to impress, upon the departmetn the advantages of placing the school under the control of a committee appointed by the various school committees in the junior high school district. This system of control obtained both at Northcote and Matamata, and was working satisfactorily in both cases.
