EXPORT OF EGGS.
DOMINION SUPPLIES. The secretary for the N®w Zealand Poultry Association has forwarded to the Hawera Poultry Club particulars contained in a return compiled by the poultry instructor ot the Department of Agriculture as follows : — The quantity of eggs and egg pulp in cold storage in the Dominion on June 30, 1926, was returned as follows : Eggs in shell, 3855 dozen ; egg pulp, 392,5421 b ; frozen whites, 7221 b ; egg yolk, nil. The above figures indicate t.ha,t there would be a. carry-over cif about 250',0001b of egg pulp on July 31; or, in other words, about half the amount that would probably be required by c-’ n-’’amers. during the next sca.rce season of supp/ly. In view of this, the question of organising flor the export of eggs during the forthcoming season appears to be a matter calling for urgent consideration. There was need for impressing, especially on those; producers who were not organised, the necessity of unloading the forthcoming spring surplus of eggs for the maintenance of local paying values during that period.
