SHOCKING ACCIDENT.

MAN’S NECK DISLOCATED. WALKS, AND CYCLES FIVE MILE'S. ■OPOTIKI, July 20'. A shocking accident occurred on the Waioeka Road, fifteen miles inland from Opotifcl. Mr Jack Donnelly was cycling from Oponae towards the town with a companion named Woodside when he fell thirty feet over a bank, struck a rotk and then fell inttoi the river. Mr Woodside helped ihm out, after which he walked and cycled for five mile's, when he picked up by a motorist and taken to! the Opotiki Hospital. In the hospital it was fdund that Mr Donnelly had a fractured skull and a dislocated neck, in addition to bad cuts behind the ears.

He is reported to-day to be as well as can be expected.
