The general store off Mr R. H. Shaw, at Waikino, was burglariously entered on Friday night. Apparently the intruder was disappointed, as on opening the safe only a few coppers and some papers were found therein. These were not touched, and neither was the stock, as far as. can be ascertained. An entrance to the shop wa.s gained by breaking a pane of glass in the door and turning the Yale lock. ■As is Mr Shaw’s custom, money and valuables are not left in the shop over-night.
