COUNCIL'S ESTIMATES FOR 1926-27

The. following estimates for repairs, maintenance, and a limited amount of new work for 1926-27 were submitted by the Works Committee to last Thursday’s meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council and approved:— Expended to date, approximately, £500; Public Works storm-water drainage, £228 ; other special stormwater drainage as per report, £209 ; horse feed for 9 months, 7 shoeings, £55; driver’s wages, £95 ;: patching metal, 250 yards at 15s, £lB7 10s-; Andrew’s Street. £lO ; Belmont Road, repairs to bitumen, £lOO ; Bennett Street, water-tables, £:0; main street footpath repairs, £5O; roller and sprayer shed, £lOO ; drain cleaning, £lOO ; replacing bridge near Bennett Street on Arney Street with 3|t concrete pipes,, £5O ; metal for protecting edge of bitumen carriage way, Russell Street, £7 10s , Wood Street from Nahum Street to Mrs Moresby’s footpath, drain and carriage-way repairs, £l5 ; Wood Street footpathvicinity of public school, moulding concrete opposite gates, £3O ; repairs to pound fence, £7; dump, covering, etc., £lO ; Findlay’s job, £5 Victoria Street footpath, £5; McNamara’s crossing, £2 ; 12in concrete pipe drain in borough yard, £25; opening up King Street to Corbett Street, £5O ; general footpath, maintenance, and repairs, £100; main Street, weekly cleaning of water-tables, etc,, £so'; maintenance of old railway reserve,. £5O; two horses, harness, and dray,. £lOO to bitumen, Puke Road,£l7 10s; Rye Lane bridge, £lOO- - to culvert, Norwood Road, and footpath repairs, £l2 10s.
