WAIKATO MARKET REPORT.

The Farmers’ Cooperative Auctioneering Company reports:—

Beef. —There ha,s been no improvement in price since our last report, plenty of both ox and cow beef offering at prices equal to 31s per 100 for best ox and 26s for prime cow and heifer.

Fat Sheep.—-More than sufficient to meet the demand is offering, with pi ices if anything a little easier. Store Sheep.—A fair demand exists for all classes, ewes in lamb changing hands at prices less than given at Fair time. Wethers are showing little improvement, and aged and cull ewes are dull of sale. Store Cattle.—Small yardings are coming forwards. Good 2%-year steers and grown bulocks are. meeting with tompetition- Store cows bind yearling heitej’s are not wanted, but there is, a ; good demand for fresh-con-ditioned cows for turnips.

Dairy Cattle. —There is a keen demand for good forward springing heifers, Jersey and Jersey-cross being most sought after. There is also good competition Tor good dairy herds, but backward heifers and inferior cows are meeting with little competition.

Pigs.—Fat pigs are very firm at prices equaj to about Bd, with only small yardings. Stores ha.ve taken a big rise., good yardings coming forward and meeting with ke.en competition.

Horses.—The market continue; quiet for all classes. We quote:—

Bullocks, prime heavy §ll to £l3, medium £lO te £lO 10s ; cows, prime £8 to £8 10$, medium £6 to £7, unfinished £3, to £3 lOS, stores £2 10s to £3 ; stee.rs, forward 4%-year £7 5s to £7 10s, store 3%-year £5 15s to £6 ss, good 2%-year £5 5s to £5 10s, 18month.s £3 10s to £4 5s ; good steer calves £2 to £2 10s, food Jersey heifer calves 3‘ss to £2 10s ; good 'fresh empty cows £3 5s to £3 10s; aged store.cows 30s to 355; choice in-calf da,iry heifers, best Jersey-cross, £lO to £l5 ; 2%-year Jersey-cross springing heifers £9 to £9 10s, 2%-year Shorthorn dairy heifers £7 to £8 10s ; good dairy herds, tested, £l3 to £l9, others £7 to £8 10s. Sheep : Wethers, prime heavy 295. to 31s, medium prime 26s 6d Ito 27s ; ewes, prime heavy 20s to 235, light 18s to 19. s ; store wethers, 4}-tooth 22s 6d to 245, 2-tooth 20s to 22s 6d ; ewes, 4, and 8-tooth, in lamb, 22s 6d ,to 245, 5year 18s >to 20s, aged 12s to 14s; lambs, fat 22s to 24s ; good store woolly hoggets 14s 6d to 15s 6d, small woolly hoggets 10s to Ils 6d. Pigs : Baconers, primes £4 5s to £4 15s,

medium £3 15s to £4 5s ; porkers £2 5s to £2 !ss, slips 34s to 38s, -weaners ‘ 20s to 27s ; breeding sows, good, £7 10s to £8 10s. Horses; Heavy draughts £5O to £6O, medium £2B to £32; spring cart sorts £lO to £lB, harness horses £8 to £lO, hacks £5 to £B.
