In an address at a Masonic gathering in Sydney the Grand Mastei spoke of the rapid growth of Freemasonry in New South Wales, and made a comparison o'f the yeais fiom 1908 to 1926. fa particular, the comparison concerned 1.918.t0 1926. There, had been great increases in the number of lodges a,nd the membership. There were 277 lodges in New South Wales: in 1918, as against 537 to-day. In 1918 the membership was 25,000, while to-day/it j was 62,000., Lodge funds had. jumped from £BO,OOO in 1918 to £251,000 .in 1926.
