The chimes of the pos.t office clock came in for criticism by Mr S. Hurst Seager, F.R.,1,8,A’., in an address at the Rotary Club luncheon at Palmerston North. “They are, an intolerable nuisance during the night; you don’t know what quarter is l being struck;' and you have to listen fa two or three lots of chimes before you know what o’clock it is,” he said.
