LATEST BREAD DELIVERY VAN
WORK OF W. M. SORENSEN.
To the order of Mr D. Leach, Paeroa, Mi’ W. M. Sbrenben, the wellknown local coachbuider and farrier, has just completed at his workshop in Hughcndon Street one df the latest and most up-to-date bread delivery vans in the province. Built on a one,-ton Ford' chassis, the body measures Bft overall, is 3ft 6in. deep, and sft 3in wide. At the rear of the body are double doors, which, on being opened, disclose four shelves to carry, up to 600 loaves of bread. A special feature is the ventilation provided at the top olf the van, permitting the steam from the bread to escape quickly. On both sides of the forward part of the van a,re two compartments which are accessible by doors from either side. These compartments are fitted with trays for the safe carriage of small goods. Built of heart of kauri panels and hardwood framing, .the van is thoroughly dust a,nd water-proof, yet is airy and hygienic. The driver’s seat is spring cushioned, with a padded spring ba,ck. A double windscreen, to which are • fitted special wind and storm guards, ensures the driver’s comfort in any weather. Special attention, including an innovation, has been made in - the springing of the body on the chassis- The body is finished off in a cream tint, with, attractive gold and blue lettering. The whole of the work has been done in the workshop, and it certainly reflects the highest credit on the skill ■a,nd ability of Mr Sorensen and his staff.*
